Face as Canvas
These photographs are self-portraits. I chose to use my face as a tool to create art. These images acknowledge the ancient art of body adornment and face-painting. Human beings discovered this technique as cave dwellers. It was used as a means of expression and communication. Indigenous cultures around our globe still practice this form of art. It is a marker that connects us as one human race.
