Solo Exhibition - Ringling College of Art and Design

“A Thousand Words”

This solo exhibition was on display at the Ringling College of Art and Design from August 30th through December 10, 2021. It was based on a series of photographic art and a series of paper dresses.

Each work of art shares storytelling qualities through color, texture and form. The photographs represent the ancient art of face-painting. As cave-dwellers, human beings developed the practice of body adornment as a form of communication.

The series of dresses made of paper, represents stories of family. Each dress expresses the point of view of a family member. The different textures of Mulberry paper tell stories of individual characters that make up a family. The dresses are displayed on a portable clothesline representing love, loyalty, unity and closeness.
